GSBF President Ted Matson has sent out a challenge to all member clubs to participate in the Power Of One. This is a voluntary program where each club is asked to purchase One Full Registration for this years GSBF Convention in Modesto, CA and give it to a deserving member of their club. Perhaps it is someone who has never had a chance to attend a convention in the past. It's up to each club to get creative and award their prize the way they choose.

*San Diego Bonsai Club*
We came up with a 500 words or less essay entitled, "Why I want to go to my first convention." We originally planned to choose one lucky winner but the judges decided they had two worthy winners. Congratulations to Maria Barbosa and Florentina Cruz!  See you at the convention!

*American Bonsai Association of Sacramento*
At our annual dinner each member in good standing was given a raffle ticket and the winner was chosen randomly. Congratulations to Darin Finn!  See you at the convention!

*Kofu Bonsai Kai*
The club board voted to extend the prize to an active & enthusiastic new member. Congratulations to Tony Peredo!  See you at the convention!

*Santa Cruz Bonsai Kai*
Heeding the call for a Bonsai for the Convention Auction and Power of One Challenge our club decided to invite members to bring in a tree they would be willing to donate in the name of their club. The club members voted on the one they felt would bring GSBF the most money at the auction and the club sponsored a Full Registration for the generous winner.  Congratulations to Robert Stoll and his 50 yr. old Seiju Elm. *Marin Bonsai Club*
Our club held a raffle and our winner is a new fan of bonsai. Congratulations to Alison Seaman! See you at the convention!
